I love this place! If you want classic American comfort food, this is the place. Just a neighborhood joint where the owners know all their customers by name. I always have breakfast here when I am in the area.
Stopped by on the way back to IL. The yelp reviews caught my attention. They were not wrong. All the staff was super friendly. The food is like what you would expect from a small greek diner, but better. Had the gyro breakfast special. That will cure a hangover. Their gyro meat is great and it is sliced thicker and not dry either. A great local small diner. Pay attention or you'll drive past like I did.

I've been eating here since I was able to eat! The place has never changed and is the best place for breakfast/brunch in the shores! Always welcoming friendly staff and delicious Greek and American food!

My favorite local breakfast spot. I usually get an omelet with feta, spinach and mushrooms. Not sure what they are doing, but it's consistently the best omelet I have ever eaten. And when you ask for your hash browns well done, they understand the meaning of well done - a lost art in most restaurants.

Not only does Karas have the best Gyros in Michigan, but they have the best Greek dressing I've ever tasted. If you are looking for a fancy joint this may not be the place for you, but if you want amazing Gyros and the best Greek Salad this side of Athens then you gotta check out Karas!

Best Gyros in the U.S...... Been all over the United States and never had Gyros as awesome as Karas! Love mama Karas! She's always there to make sure there's a table clear and to take your $$$$$... You go mama Karas! Always a treat to see Laz, Pete and Dimitri cooking on the grill.. Waite staff are friendly and always a bottomless cup of coffee. Been going here for 30 years and it's my fave breakfast place.

Best breakfast special in town. You always know what you're gonna get and their coffee is fantastic! You will never have an empty cup. Its a very family oriented place and we always feel welcome when we go there. I go whenever I have the chance!

This is a Greek food sort of place. Family owned and operated -- they know what they're doing! Their menu has variety and everything I've tried has been a hit. The staff is super friendly as well. They are cash only though so make sure you come prepared. I found that out the hard way but they were so cool about it I was able to run home and back to pay 'em.

Ok, so here's my first post on breakfast joints... The first few will be straight up greasy spoons, then I'm sure I'll try some fancy places named "Egg" only open at 2 am til 2:30am... But for now, let stick to grease! Karas!! I've been frequenting this joint since I was a teen. One of the cooks (owner?), and one of our fav waitresses passed, but they kept up the great work... Like my Chinese food reviews, I'll try to stick to a few staples of the joint, so you get a good feel to how they all compare. So at Karas I get the Early Riser. 3 eggs over easy (my choice), hash browns, ham, bacon, sausage and toast. Everything is consistent here, that's why I come. The food including the great coffee has tasted the same since I was in HS, like 1992-ish... Elaborating on what was good and what wasn't, doesn't really apply. I've never had a bad meal here. Plus it's cheap. Be warned, cash ONLY! They also have great pancakes, and the Gyro and Eggs is pretty good too, even though I haven't had it since 1994. If you go with this dish, RED SAUCE! Also, the coffee is nice and strong without tasting terrible. Overall my top choice of breakfast joints on a budget!

Delicious breakfast! I ordered the spinach and feta omelet with gyro meat and sauce, hashbrowns well done, toast and a coffee. A whole lotta food for lil' me! There were plenty of leftovers to take home to my fiancé. Very family friendly although the place is a bit small. Also, a warning - don't take your daily shower then go here and eat. You may be seated next to the open kitchen.
